The Withings Activité, of analogue smartwatch fame, is now confirmed to boast Android OS compatibility.

As of March 2, the Activité and its cheaper Activité Pop sibling became Android-friendly.

Until now, both watches would only work with Apple’s iOS, cutting out a huge chunk of the mobile market.

The new update will mean Google-powered devices will all be able to access sleep, fitness, and distance data, courtesy of the Google Fit app.

The Activité series is Withings attempt to eschew the smartwatch status quo of bulky, OLED display-toting wrist-bricks.

At face value, the Activité is little more than a standard analogue smartwatch, albeit with sensor-laden innards.

The display also carries a subdial, secondary to the main time-teller, that conveys tracking information like, for instance, how far you are towards a fitness goal.

This well-intentioned simplicity means the Activité devices don’t fall at the battery life hurdle like so many of the other smartwatches on the market. Estimates put the Activité’s battery life at somewhere around eight months.

The Withings Activité proper will cost you around £320, while the plasticky Pop spin-off is a far more manageable £120.

We scored the Withings Activité an 8/10 in our review, praising it for a luxury design, waterproofing up to a 50m depth, an attractive app and ecosystem, and the impressive life.
