Alcatel to launch 4.6-inch QHD smartphone?

French handset manufacturer Alcatel is to join LG in launching a smartphone with a QHD display, leaked benchmarks have suggested.

According to prematurely outed GFXBench benchmarks, Alcatel – despite being best known for making affordable, entry level and mid-market handsets – is prepping a device which would see it jump into firmly into the high-end space.

Said to feature a 4.6-inch handset with a 2560 x 1440 pixel, QHD resolution, the teased Alcatel device has not been named, and no concrete launch plans for the mysterious device have yet surfaced.

However, aside from its LG G3 rivalling QHD display, the leaked handset looks set to feature a formidable, high-end specs sheet.

With the 64-bit MediaTek MT6595 tipped for inclusion, the phone is also said to feature 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage – only 12GB available to users – and 4K video recording credentials.

Unusually, it has been suggested that the unnamed Alcatel handset with feature identical 7-megapixel cameras on both the front and rear of the device.

Further details on the leaked handset are currently clear. We will of course bring you further details as and when we have them.
